Children in Need

We had a fantastic day raising money for Children in Need on Friday 16th November. Ready for the cake sale after school, the children spent the morning baking everything from cakes to cookies. Once the baking was complete, each class spent the remainder of the day finding out more about Children in Need. Year 5 and 6 set up a newsroom in the hall and produced a short booklet packed full of information on Children in Need to hand out at the cake sale. The children came to school dressed in spotty clothes and filled a giant Pudsey with coins! We're looking forward to finding out how much we raised for such a good cause.

Remembrance Day

On Friday 9th November, the children and staff marked Remembrance Day. This year it was particularly significant since it had been one-hundred years since the end of World War One. Each class found out about the war and the sacrifices people from across the globe made for our freedom and liberty. As part of the commemorations, a wreath of poppies was made by each year group. These were displayed during assembly and wishes for peace in the future were shared with the school community.
